The season will conclude with the One of These Nights tribute to The Eagles, which will be at at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2027, and all the concerts will take place in Maskus Auditorium at Liberal High School.
Community Concerts of Liberal President Mike Brack said he is very excited about the season, and he and his fellow board members will be working to help get people in the seats.
“We're going to be working really hard to get the word out about Community Concerts of Liberal and what a great opportunity it is for people here in our community to see top quality entertainment for a pretty reasonable price – $75 per person for all five concerts is a great deal, and $150 for a family is an even better deal,” Brack said. “I'm a full supporter of getting children exposed to all different kinds of music, and I think we do a pretty good job of giving a variety. Classical music is still a passion of mine, but I realize it's not a passion for everybody in Southwest Kansas. We like next season, we've got a good variety coming. ArcoStrum plays a variety of music on different instruments, so that will be a great experience for everybody. And they’re Juilliard-trained musicians, so they definitely know what they're what they're doing. We're trying something new this year with Todd Oliver, who’s a comedian, and we’re excited to see how he does, and it's fun to be out and and get an opportunity to just laugh.”
And the rest of the playbill for the season looks good too, Brack said.
“We're bringing back Erinn Dearth and Dan Beckman, they were here two seasons ago with their Letters From Home, which was a huge hit, and we invited first responders and emergency personnel and veterans. This season, they're doing an act together again to celebrate legendary duos like Sonny and Cher and Captain and Tenielle, so I think that's going to be a really high energy show everybody will enjoy,” Brack said. “We’ll also have Nu-Blu, they’re a North Carolina-based bluegrass band, and they should also go over really well here in town. Our closer, the One of These Nights show, is a tribute to The Eagles and we've learned from from experience how people really enjoy those shows – there was one year we did a Billy Joel and Elton John tribute show with with a pair of vocalists going back and forth, and I know there was one other year we had a Neil Diamond tribute show that also went over really well. Overall, it should be a great season for everyone to take in.”
While it might seem a little early, Brack said people should go ahead and mark their calendars with this season’s shows.
“I feel like the best deal is to buy the membership for $75 per person if you end up being interested in all of the shows. You can come to an individual show for $25, if there's only a concert or two you're REALLY interested in, and that’s also a good deal,” Brack said. “But if you want to live large, buy a membership, experience all five concerts and have a good time. Events like this are pretty relaxing and it’s a great opportunity to get out of the house for a couple hours. I always say there's nothing better than live performance.”
Brack also offered encouragement for people in the community to join the Community Concerts of Liberal board.
