Many pet owners, whether current or in the past, have probably wondered what would happen if we were able to truly communicate with our furry friends, and recently, the geniuses at Pixar decided to find that out with their newest release, “Hoppers.” The film follows Mabel Tanaka (Piper Curda), an animal lover, whose mind is transferred into a lifelike robotic beaver to communicate with animals and save their habitat from destruction, inadvertently starting an uprising in doing so.

The 2026 Broadway in Wichita season has gotten off to a great start so far and soon will be looking to extend that success.

The Broadway in Wichita season will be continuing with the Tony Award-winning "Hadestown," which will run March 20 (7:30 p.m.), March 21 (2 and 7:30 p.m.), and March 22 (1 p.m.), with all performances taking place at Century II Performing Arts Center at 225 W. Douglas Ave. in Wichita. The show tells a version of the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice – Eurydice, a starving young girl, goes to work in a hellish industrial version of the Greek underworld to escape poverty and the cold, and her singer-songwriter lover Orpheus eventually comes to rescue her.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and a new book seeks to tell the story of the man who inspired the holiday, St. Valentine.

The book, “The Legend of Valentine,” written by Sheldon Collins, follows the story of Valentine, a once fearsome warrior reborn from the brink of death, who sheds his violent past for a new destiny inspired by his blind lover, Agatha. Amidst the ruthless rule of a merciless emperor, Valentine undertakes a clandestine mission – uniting couples in secret ceremonies and defying imperial decrees that threaten to obliterate the Christian faith. As Valentine’s covert acts of defiance grow bolder, he challenges the tyrannical order, planting the seeds for a celebration of love that will echo.

At some point in our lives, we all ask ourselves how we think we would fare if we were to get stranded on a desert island, though the odds of that happening are rather remote. Recently, however, long-time film director Sam Raimi tackled just that with his newest film, “Send Help,” which was released last Friday.

The film follows long-time undervalued employee Linda Liddle (Rachel McAdams) and her new boss, Bradley (Dylan O’Brien), who become stranded on a deserted island after surviving a terrible plane crash and attempt to survive while tension rises between them as time goes on.

The next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is officially under way, and one of the TV projects I’ve seen talked about on social media quite a bit lately has been “Wonder Man,” which has now officially dropped on Disney+.

The eight-episode miniseries follows struggling actors Simon Williams (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) and Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley) as they try to earn roles in an upcoming remake of the superhero film “Wonder Man” while also hiding some secrets from each other and the world.
