PEARL BRESSLER

Pearl Imogene Bressler, 85, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, in Oklahoma City.

She was born June 27, 1940 in Sublette to Paul and Mary Slocum, the third of seven kids.

Early on, Imogene was married to Gene Dethrow, and they moved from Hugoton (where she went to school) to Rolla. This union brought them their three children: Doug, Jimmy and Lesa.

EUGENE HARKE

Eugene Harke, 86, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

He was born Aug. 9, 1939 to Herbert and Mina Harke.

He married Bonita Smith in 1960. She survives.

SHERRY PRUETT

JOHNSON – Sherry H. Pruett, 84, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, in Johnson.

She was born Dec. 30, 1940 to Charles and Pearletta (Conner) Herrell.

In her adult life, she dedicated herself to a variety of roles that reflected her compassionate spirit and strong work ethic, In 1973, she began her service at Stafford District Hospital, where she cared for many.

She moved to Johnson in 1997 and worked at the Stanton County Treasurer’s office for many years.

RACHAEL STEWART

ROLLA – Rachael Ann Stewart, 78, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2025 at her home in Rolla.

She was born Aug. 8, 1947 to Wayne and Ione (Morgan) Lewis.

She graduated from Rolla High School in May 1965.

She married Robert “Bob” Clinton Stewart Oct. 26, 1968. He preceded her in death.

JAN KING

Jan LuRene King, 83, died May 18, 2025, in Scottsdale, Ariz.

She was born Jan. 5, 1942 to Hazel (Matkin) King and Rufus King.

She graduated from Liberal High School in 1959. She went on to attend Kansas State University in Manhattan, but ultimately graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education from Emporia State University in Emporia.
