Despite a competitive start, the Eisenhower Warriors seventh graders struggled midway through the game with Horace good Thursday and fell 32-0.
The Warriors only allowed one score early and had a chance to tie the game before a fumble ended the drive.
Horace Good was able to take advantage of the miscue and took a 14-0 lead.
TURPIN, Okla.—The Turpin Cardinals exploded for 30 points in the second quarter, scoring touchdowns on offense, defense and special teams and coasted to a 38-6 homecoming victory over the Boise City Wildcats.
“I was proud of the way we came out,” Cardinals Head Coach Justin Hannah said. “I liked the way set the tone early. Really happy with the way our defense forced turnovers. Great pass rush and great coverage and really pursued the ball well.”
Four drives for the Liberal Redskins reached the red zone but ended with no points, and a late Dodge City touchdown and a pick six put the game out of reach in a 33-14 loss.
Liberal forced a turnover after a long Dodge City drive to start the game, and Liberal marched 84 yards for a touchdown and a 7-0 lead.
The Seymour Rogers Apache football teams hosted Hays Thursday but couldn’t get a win.
The seventh grade Apaches fell 32-6.
The Apaches allowed an opening drive score to the Hawks after a five-minute drive, and the Apaches started strong with a pair of first downs on outside sweeps.
After suffering a 1-0 loss to Dodge City and a 1-1 tie with Garden City, the Liberal Redskin soccer team traveled to Lamar, Colo., and came away with a 5-0 win.
The Redskins dominated shots on goal in the first half but couldn’t score. Liberal outshot Lamar 15-1, but the two teams headed to halftime tied 0-0.
Suain Moncayo finally found the net 3:45 into the second half to give the Redskins a 1- lead.
Jaden Gonzalez sent a pass to Moncayo 12 minutes into the second half for a goal and a 2-0 lead.
