Redskins fade late against Dodge

After an impressive 6-0 win over Great Bend Tuesday, the Redskins traveled to Dodge City to face the undefeated Red demons, and after taking an early 1-0 lead off a Suain Moncayo goal, the offense couldn’t get another ball in the net and fell 4-1.

Dodge City ties the game midway through the first half and took a 2-1 lead at the break.

Dodge City added two more goals in the final five minutes after a penalty kick allowed the Red Demons to take a 3-1 lead and a final goal pushed the score to 4-1.

Saints secure winning season with win over Coffeyville

It's the final week of the 2024 regular season and the Seward County Saints play host in their final two games beginning with a matchup against the Coffeyville Red Ravens who came into Liberal and suffered the same result as the last time these two teams competed with Seward County taking the win to secure a winning season in just the second year of the program.

Seward County entered the final week of the regular season with playoff implications on the line entering Wednesday's contest with the Coffeyville Red Ravens as the Lady Saints competed wire to wire with their Jayhawk Conference opponent where a second half goal from Dayra Dinarte off a penalty kick helped Seward earn a point in the standings with a 1-1 draw.

Redskins knock off Great Bend, chase high seed for playoffs

Liberal spent most of Tuesday’s game against Great Bend near the Panther goal, and while some shots sailed around the goal, the Redskins found the net multiple times in a 6-0 blowout win.

Several shots went off the crossbars, and the Great Bend goalkeeper was abel to get deflections to deny other shot attempts.

But Giezi Gonzalez started the scoring frenzy by lifting a shot high into the net in the first 10 minutes of the game, and the Redskin scoring onslaught continued.

Cards fall short against top ranked Laverne

TURPIN, Okla.—Cardinal QB Carson Peters accounted for six touchdowns against top-ranked Laverne. But in a game full of big plays, where the two offenses combined for over 1,000 yards, it came down to the conversion plays. Laverne converted three times and Turpin only one leading to a 42-38 win for the Tigers.

“Disappointed with the loss, but not disappointed with the effort, Cardinals Head Coach Justin Hannah said. “We had too many execution breakdowns and missed tackles. But we know what kind of fight we have in us.”
