Lady Saints upset No. 5 Dodge City, 55-52

Seward County dug out of an 11-point hole against the nationally ranked No. 5 Dodge City Lady Conquistadors and finished the game on a 6-0 run  for a 55-52 win.

Dodge City led 30-22 at half and pushed the lead to 11 early in the third quarter.

But the Lady Saints trimmed the lead back to only three at the end of the third quarter.

The Lady Saints tied the game before the Lady Conqs rebuilt a 52-49 lead.

Lady Redskins top Great Bend, Redskins fall

After winning at home on Homecoming night Tuesday, the Lady Redskins played in a road Homecoming game Friday against Great Bend and came away with a 67-40 win.

The Lady Redskins jumped out to a 29-10 lead after the first quarter and 45-23 at half.

The Lady Redskins moved to 11-5 on the season and 4-1 in the Western Athletic Conference after completing the sweep over the Lady Panthers.

Lady Cardinals capture Senior Night win, 70-31

TURPIN, Okla.—The Turpin Lady Cardinals exploded out of the gate, taking a 29-4 lead two -minutes into the second quarter on their way to a 70-31 Senior Night romp over the Goodwell Lady Eagles.

Macee Strain led the way, scoring 17 of her game-high 23 in the first quarter, including three treys. Alissa Peters added 18 points and a team-high 8 rebounds. Megan Weber also reached double digits with 10 points and Jada McGowan added 9.

Turpin led by 25 at the half (36-11) and extended the lead to thirty (59-19) heading into the fourth quarter. The Lady Cardinals dominated the boards with a 40-19 advantage and forced 15 turnovers.

Turpin (12-8) will host Elkhart tonight, then host the winner of Texhoma vs. Fargo-Gage-Ft. Supply, Saturday for the district championship.

Big first half carries Cardinals to victory

TURPIN, Okla.— The Turpin Cardinals forced 19 turnovers and held the Goodwell Eagles without a field goal for almost eight minutes in the first half on their way to a 72-45 win.

Turpin took an early 11-2 lead capped by a Jhett Huffman three with 4:31 left in the first quarter and led 17-9 with 20 seconds left in the first. The Cardinals then went on a 23-2 run with the Eagles only points coming at the line. Goodwell finally hit their first field goal of the quarter with 36 seconds left in the half. Turpin led 40-13 at the break.

LHS wrestlers compete in home dual against Great Bend

The Lady Redskins trailed Great Bend by five team points heading in to the final two matches of the dual before Hayleen Martinez scored a come-from-behind win, and Aileen Figueroa finished the night with a pin to secure a 43-36 Senior Night victory for the Lady Redskins.

The Redskins continued to develop younger wrestlers in a 55-24 loss.

Kiersie Carlile started the Lady Redskins with a 12-0 victory over her opponent, but Great Bend earned several victories to take a 24-10 lead.

But the Lady Redskins battled back to cut the lead to 36-31 heading in to the final two matches.
