Redskin soccer off to 2-0 start

Liberal Redskin started off the season with a mercy rule 8-0 win against Circle HS with 35:18 left in the second half.

After a large senior class graduated last year there was a lot of new faces contributing, but the expectations haven’t changed for the boys soccer team. Labor Day kicked off the season in the Titan Classic in Wichita.

Shots on goal came quickly, and the Circle keeper did all he could to keep Liberal off the board with a lot of good saves.

Diego Pavia got the scoring started 8:52 into the game off a rebounded shot.

Rough season comes to an end for Bee Jays

This Bee Jay team did not live up to the standards of the storied franchise of summer baseball.

It’s harsh, I know. Like all teams I’m sure the desire to succeed was there. But as the saying goes, you are what your record says you are, and the Bee Jays had a losing record in the Rocky Mountain League.

By the time the Liberal Bee Jays reach the final week of the regular season in previous years, the Bee Jays have already received a bid to the National Baseball Congress World Series and are battling to win the league title.

Miles moves to Wichita East as AD

L&T staff report

Liberal High School Activities Director Kerri Miles will be making the move to Wichita to become the Activities Administrator for Wichita East.

Miles has been the Activities Director for LHS since Feb. 8, 2021.

Bee Jays bomb A’s on 4th of July

Jason Davis had a shaky start to the Fourth of July classic between the Liberal Bee Jays and the Dodge City A’s, but he regained his composure and led the Bee Jays to a win.

The A’s pushed a runner across the plate in the first inning and in the top of the second to take a 2-0 lead, but the A’s pitcher struggled in the second inning, and the Bee Jays took advantage of the walks.
