RAMONA CAROLYN ENGLE

Ramona Carolyn Engle, a beloved mother, grandmother, and educator, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024 at John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit, Mo., at the age of 91. Carolyn was previously a resident of Balko, Okla. and Liberal before she relocated to Lee’s Summit.

Carolyn was born in Balko, Okla., on June 26, 1933, to William McGlamery and Katherine Marie Ball Enterline McGlamery. After her father’s death in 1939, she and her twin sister were raised by her mother, Marie, and her older brother Kenneth and cousin Franklin on the family farm. She grew up with a passion for learning and a deep commitment to helping others, which shaped her life and career.

LYNN THOMPSON

Lynn Thompson, 75, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

He was born Oct. 28, 1949 to Merrell and Betty (Nelson) Thompson.

He grew up in Hooker, Okla. and graduated from Hooker High School.

MARK CAFFALETTE

Mark Anthony Caffalette, 51, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024 at the Kansas Medical Center in Andover.

He was born Sept. 14, 1973 to Anthony and Peggy (Felder) Caffalette at Bitburg Airforce Base in Bitburg, Germany.

He married Diane Sisneros March 22, 2019. She survives.

ROBERT SLOAN

Robert Eugene "Bob" Sloan, 84, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2024 at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield.

He was born July 3, 1940 to John and Donia (Burns) Sloan.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

TAWNYA FOUTCH

ULYSSES – Tawnya Kay Foutch died Monday, Nov. 25, 2024.

She served her community of Ulysses for many years as an EMT, then as a paramedic and registered nurse. She had passion and skill for emergent care and later returned to the long-term care field, as a charge nurse and then as director of nursing.
