The Liberal Redskins traveled to Garden City Tuesday and earned a 14-1 run-rule win over the Buffaloes.
After scoring one run in the first tow innings, the bats came alive in the third for five runs before the Redskins added three more in the fourth. The Redskins scored five more in the fifth, and after holding the Buffaloes scoreless in the bottom of the fifth, the Redskins ended the game early with the 14-1 win.
Marco Alonso led the Redskins with three hits and four RBIs. Zayden Martinez and Broks Kappelmann each had two hits.
Kappelmann pitched all five innings allowing one unearned run on four hits and one walk while striking out nine.
Liberal (3-6) travels to Woodward Friday for a double header.
Richard Berg led the Bracketbuster Challenge through the Final Four, but Robert Thompson recovered from a slow start and aced the two finalists and the national champion for a come-from-behind victory.
Berg had 187 points up to the Final Four, but he picked North Carolina and Houston to play for the title.
Several others picked UConn and Purdue, and that allowed them to overcome Berg.
Thompson picked UConn to defeat Purdue and ended with 218 points to win the challenge.
Liberal moved to 4-5 overall Saturday after a pair of wins in Wichita.
The Lady Redskins knocked off Wichita South 25-3 in a three-inning game and then knocked off Wichita North 5-0.

The Lady Red faced a tough defeat against Hays, with a final score of 2-1. Hays took an early lead in the first half, scoring two goals, at the 11th and 34th minutes.
The Lady Red showed resilience in the second half, with a goal coming in the 10th minute from senior Karime Neave, who took advantage of a corner kick delivered by freshman Liliana Santiago.
The defense worked hard in the second half dominating the pitch for the last 40 minutes. The Lady Red managed to keep Hays from scoring any additional goals and possessed the ball the majority of the half. Despite out-shooting the Indians in the second half the Lady Red couldn't find the equalizer.
Liberal fell to 1-2 in the Western Athletic Conference, 3-3 overall.
