CIMARRON – Marilyn L. Marchel, 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at The Shepherd’s Center in Cimarron.
She was born Nov. 3, 1932, to John W. and Jessie (Wharton) McKaig in Anthony, and grew up on a ranch southeast of Attica alongside her parents and two brothers, Johnny and Frank.
HUGOTON – Barbara Nadine Beeks, 88, died Thursday, July 17, 2025 at her home in Hugoton.
She was born Sept. 30, 1936 to Robert and Claudine (Calahan) Long.
She married Garland E. Beeks Sept. 15, 2004. He survives.
MEADE – Robert E. (Bob) Wittman, 96, died Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at the Lone Tree Retirement Center in Meade.
He was born May 11, 1929 to Alexander and Amolia (Schneider) Wittman.
He married Joyce Darlene Schrott May 15, 1955. She preceded him in death Feb. 13, 2014.
He graduated from Bazine High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy in September 1948, serving as a Metalsmith Second Class.
Ernesto Alaniz, Jr. 63, died Friday July 18, 2025 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born Jan. 6, 1962 to Ernesto Alaniz Sr. and Josefina Ramirez.
He married Beatriz Medrano June 12, 2000. She survives.
Michael Alan Beckerman, 72, died Friday, July 18, 2025.
He was born March 1, 1953 to Fred and Judy Beckerman.
He was a graduate of Fowler High School and spent several years farming alongside his father.
He later went on to own and operate both a welding shop and a liquor store, reflecting his entrepreneurial spirit.
