Dodge City may have had the Liberal Redskins on the ropes Tuesday, but they couldn’t deliver the knockout blow, and a late rally sparked by Landon Martinez and Alex Schwindt led to a standing eight count before the knockout blow hit the dazed Demons in extra innings.

Dodge City trickled runs across the plate throughout the game, including one in the first, two in the second, one in the third, two in the fifth and another in the sixth to take a 7-0 lead.

After dropping three straight to Hays, the Lady Redskin softball team rallied with four straight road wins including a pair over Dodge City and another double header against Lakin.

Liberal started the four-game streak with a 14-4 win over Dodge Tuesday.

Miley Janko had a four-RBI game on two hits, and Taylor Harding had three RBIs and three hits in the run-rule win. Haiden Lyon earned the win in the circle.

Skylar Hubbard pitched a five-hit shutout in Game 1 of a double header with Dodge City Thursday, but seven different pitchers couldn’t stop the Red Demons in Game 2.

Hubbard tossed a complete game shutout in a 6-0 Liberal win.

Hubbard threw seven innings and only allowed five hits while walking none and striking out seven.

The Lady Redskin softball team traveled to Dodge City to play a pair of “home” games against Hays Thursday and dropped both.

Rain conditions in Liberal left the fields unplayable, but the two teams agreed to meet in Dodge instead.

Freshman Haiden Lyon pitched a complete game in a 13-2 loss.
