Cindy Sue Flora (Foster), 78, passed peacefully at her home in Quinter on May 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family as she went to be with the Lord. Faith became sight as she entered eternal rest in God’s presence. Cindy was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, faithful servant of God, and treasured friend.

Born Aug. 18, 1947 in Wichita, Cindy was the daughter of Cecil Raymond Foster and Patty Lou (Black) Balloun and was lovingly adopted by Lloyd Balloun, who helped shape the foundation of her life. From an early age, she learned the values of faith, hard work, and family while helping her mother in her restaurants and caring for her younger siblings.

ULYSSES – James L. “Jim” Walker, 79, died Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses. 

He was born Dec. 31, 1946 to Clarence and Pansy (Hartley) Walker.

He was born and raised in Walsh, Colo., where he attended elementary school before moving on to high school in Johnson, and later in Lamar, Colo. Jim earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Fort Hays State University.

Jessie R. Lerma, 85, died May 12, 2026.

She was born Feb. 9, 1941 to Felipe and Justa (Rios) Rodriguez.

She dedicated much of her working life to retail sales at Walmart.

Cutberto Adame-Visoso, 69, died Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

He was born Nov. 3, 1956 to Antonio Adame and Natividad Visoso. 

He married Reyna Marino in 1975 in Mexico. She survives.
